Statement of Faith

BAC Statement of Faith

This statement of faith is the gospel lifted directly from the Bible which is the Word of God.-BACChristian

  • God created the world perfect and without sin.

  • Man disobeyed God and brought sin into the world. God is so perfect that it would be impossible for somebody sinful to be in his presence, therefore a gulf came between God and man.

  • The 10 commandments are God’s standard of perfection:

-          Do not put anything before God
-          Do not bow down to anything other than God
-          Do not blaspheme (use God’s name as a swear word)
-          Honour the Sabbath
-          Honour your parents
-          Do not murder
-          Do not commit adultery
-          Do not steal
-          Do not lie
-          Do not covet

  • God gave us the 10 commandments (“the law”) as a mirror to show our sin. (Galatians 3:28-29).

  • One day you will die. Upon death you will stand before God to be held accountable for the things you have done here on earth. (Ecclesiastes 12:14). If you read through the commandments you will see that you have broken every one. Think you pass the adultery and murder ones? Think again. Turn to Matthew 5 to see what Jesus says about that.

  • As you are guilty of violating God’s law you will be punishable and sent to Hell. There are two reasons why this will happen:

-          1. God is a just God. If you have violated the law then you must be punished.      Just as if a guilty criminal was to stand before a judge here on earth you’d     expect him to be sentenced heavily. If not there would be outrage.

-          2. Hebrews 12:29 describes God as “a consuming fire”. As stated above, God is so glorious and perfect that it would be impossible for a sinner to be in his presence. It would be as a dry leaf placed in a fire. The leaf would burn up instantly regardless of whether the fire does or does not want to burn it up.

  • God loves you so much that he sent his son, Jesus Christ, to die for you to take the punishment that you deserve. (John 3:16). Jesus lived a perfect life and had no sin in Him. Now sin is death, and Jesus had no sin, therefore when Jesus was crucified on the cross, death could not hold Him. He defeated death and rose again after 3 days. Now he sits at His Father’s right hand with the enemy as His footstool, waiting to come back on His command.

  • If you recognise what Christ has done and that you are sinful, and you repent from your sin and ask Christ for forgiveness, Christ will answer your call (1 John 1:9). This is called grace. It means an undeserved gift.

  • If you have accepted Christ then when you stand before God, God will no longer look upon you, the sinner, but upon His perfect Son within you and the punishment that He has taken on your behalf. The fine is paid. If the fine is paid you are free to go. You will appear perfect before God and be able to have a personal relationship with Him. Christ fills the gulf created by sin.

This is the gospel in its simplest and purest form. It is completely Biblical. Any other gospel contrary to this is incorrect as it has no basis to be made upon.
